Summary: Around the beginning of the rise of the horror movie, we bore witness to the birth of a stone giant made to protect until it could not be contained anymore. Now, we return to a similar tale, except the material is mostly clay, and the giant is a whole lot smaller.

History: It's the 17th century in plague-torn Lithuania, and Hanna is desperate to figure out a way to protect her village when it comes under fire from foreign raiders claiming they spread the plague. She decides to dabble in the forbidden arts to create a golem. After a while, the ritual works, and brought into the world is a small yet utterly strong being of clay and skin who looks a lot like Hannah's lost son, Joseph. But in truth, the golem is only really loyal to Hanna. Anyone who tries to bring harm to her or it will suffer a violent, sometimes cruel fate.

Notable Kills: Stuffs a woman's dead body in a chest.

Final Fate: After the raiders ruin a ritual meant to drive the golem away, the golem kills them all, and threatens to rampage throughout the whole village before Hanna kisses it, removing the encryption on his mouth, and ending its life.

Powers/Abilities: Incredible strength, invincibility.

Weakness: Holy rituals, erasing the name chosen by God inscribed on it.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-The concept of a super-powered being of Earth should be scarier, but it's somewhat mitigated by the hilarity of the monster being in the form of a small boy. Just try to imagine a whole army getting throttled by a toddler and try not to grin. Just don't actually fight this thing if you value your life...

Trivia: -This film's directors, Doron and Yoav Paz, were inspired to make this film by the old Jewish tales of golems that they were told in their childhood.

-Although this is a Lithuanian story, everyone is either American or Canadian. Figures.
